Looking for a name

Do you remember the gorgeous Summer Pantene Bead Swap we had back in... I forget when? :) Yes, in June... phew... A reminder of the beauties Dee sent me: Beads in the mail!

It took me a while to get to some of her beads - but I finally did. I still have ideas for others, and I will make time to get my office done (the attic is waiting for me!) and move myself there :)

The small glass beads Dee sent spoke to me the loudest. Why? I love glass, and her cylinders are the happiest bunch I've ever seen! I used to have something similar when I was very young, a collar I lost one summer day and I still regret (can you imagine to sigh over a necklace for over 30 years?! must be crazy)

As I was (and still am) in a wire-work mood, I took them outside one gorgeous summer day (same day when I wrapped the ceramic and copper necklace) and this is what came from that:

Summer morning (lampwork glass, sterling silver; wire wrapping & jig; necklace; 100% handcrafted) :: All Pretty Things

Wire wrapped and jig elements with the happy lampwork in the middle. I temporarily called it 'Summer morning', but I'm not sure if it's the best name.

What do you think about it?

  1. I like the name you picked, Alicia... but as soon as I saw the necklace, before reading anything, I thought, "Candy Store". I rarely name my own creations LOL

    1. That's a great name, Monique - it really looks like those striped candies I use to have when I was a child. I know, it's hard to come up with a name, but I like to find one for each :)

      Thanks for stopping by!

  2. Exactly! the beads remind me of the stick candy with all the twists of color - what a pretty necklace!
