Thankgiving Day (Canada)

Today is Thanksgiving Day! I re-read what I wrote last year about the day and I feel I said it best back then, so I will let you read the original right here.

Thanksgiving Day, 2011

Very few things have changed since last year - but my list of what am I thankful for grew a bit.

First and foremost I am grateful for our family and friends: their love is what brings me joy every day! I am also grateful for the health of my family and friends - may God bless us and keep us healthy!

I am also grateful for the community I found in the past year - one I feel I can belong, one I can turn to for advice, help or simply for fun.

And last, but not least - I am grateful for being able to create (maybe not as much as I would love too), to express myself through art and music. It is an essential part of myself, or my soul - and just a few days ago simply browsing through beautiful art calmed me down enough to make me smile and find a solution to a problem that seemed solution-less!

What are you thankful for?

  1. We don't have to look very far to see much suffering and sadness in the world. I am grateful to be able to open my eyes every morning and look around at the bounty I have, and to choose to smile at someone today and change their outlook. That to me is a powerful gift... I still think loneliness is our greatest challenge. We can overcome almost anything if we can share it with someone. I am so grateful for all my "someones", both here at home and in the online community. Happy Thanksgiving, Alicia!

  2. Hi Alicia,
I as you am thankful that I can use the gift God gave to me to create beautiful pieces that others can enjoy. Also I am thankful that I have a job and a roof over my head, where so many these day have not.

I am thankful for many thing ...my wonderful family, my wonderful parents who had gifted me such a joyous childhood and taught me to value each day and be thankful. My journal on what I am thankful for goes long and long each day as I am growing old.

I am thankful for finding you as a friend, Alicia. Thanks for keeping in touch.
