Tulip Festival

Since this spring was extremely warm, we have been relegated to an early Tulip Festival - we live 5 minutes by car (about 20 by bike) from the Royal Botanical Garden, and the gardens are where we spend a good deal of our free time, no matter what season.

The Tulip Festival is one of my favourites and it became William's favourite too, because the Rock Gardens is full of interesting places one can hide into!

So up on the bikes - about 25 minutes ride to the gardens and then a couple of hours of pure bliss: the child running around and studying the wild life, and his mommy taking pictures and reading a book on the bench, surrounded by colour and beauty.

Can you imagine a better way to spend one's time?

  1. Thank you sharing this wonderful slide show, Alicia. You are fortunate to be so near this lovely display; it's great that your son enjoys the Garden, too!

  2. It is amazing the things that we all have on our doorsteps that we can visit - I have the most amazing rainforest mountains with lovely coffee shops only a 20min drive from my house and a beautiful 20min country drive - no traffic. I need to go there more often.. Love your photos.

    1. That's lovely, Tania, rainforest... that sounds both exotic and amazing! Do you know the Microsoft background picture with the autumn trees (http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_jeetJTfzUoU/TJrLtKEOmoI/AAAAAAAAJcc/1CEha9P9v7M/s1600/Autumn-MicrosoftDesktopImage.jpg)? We live there, I love driving through in the fall :)
